Cell Culture Technician

Your role

The Cell Line Development team is part of the Upstream Processing (USP) department responsible for vector generation through to full-scale mammalian cell culture to produce antibodies. Activities of the Cell Line Development team include the generation of antibody-producing cell lines for GMP production processes, and production of recombinant protein research materials for product-related projects. As a cell culture technician you will be working hands-on for both activities and additionally perform lab support tasks for the whole USP team. Your activities will include, but are not limited to, cell culture experiments in various culture formats, stable and transient transfections, plasmid DNA purifications and general tasks related to the equipment and laboratory. You will plan, execute and report your activities in close collaboration with your colleagues. You will join a stimulating group of technicians and scientists in a very collaborative environment. As part of this group, your personal as well as your scientific growth are encouraged and developed.

Your profile and skills

  • BSc degree in life sciences, biotechnology or a related subject
  • Proven background in mammalian cell culture, preferably with different suspension cell lines
  • Experience in a biotechnology or biopharmaceutical industry environment is an advantage
  • Experience in molecular biology (plasmid vector construction/isolation) is an advantage
  • A team-player with adequate verbal and written communication skills in English  
  • An open-mind, flexible and pragmatic approach
  • Eager to learn new skills
